How to transfer baby to a crib
Here are a few tried and true techniques from our postpartum doula experience that work well, and follow safe sleep!
Drowsy but awake doesn’t work for all babies. If your baby falls asleep on you they seem so tired- until you put the down right? Holding your hand on their chest for a minute, lowering your body as close to the bassinet/pack n play as possible (pack n play is easy to get close compared to crib. Use white noise to build a comforting association with sleep so they still have that as a tool.
Also you can use a heating pad on the crib prior to putting them in remove in, unplug it and take it out of the room (for safety) make sure the bed is warm to the touch before putting baby down. Also you can sleep with babies crib sheet for a few nights to make it smell like you!
